Mallorca's Hotel Corazón Is The Hottest Stay Of Euro Summer
We've never seen anywhere quite like Hotel Corazón.
We've never seen anywhere quite like Hotel Corazón. It stopped us in our tracks. Before it was outed to the world by Conde Nast’s 2024 ‘Hot List’ we stumbled upon it by chance while hunting for a romantic last-minute escape in Mallorca. We half expected it to be AI-generated.
The property is a 16th-century monastery reincarnated as a sensual piece of art where no two rooms are designed the same. Hues of the Mediterranean meet the styling of a Mexican hacienda at Corazón - a haven for art lovers, musicians, and photographers - which has been sparkling in the Spanish sunshine since opening its doors last year.
But it was the rooms that got our attention; despite their punchy price tag, we’d never seen anything quite like them. A month or two later, we were checking into Hotel Corazón.
This is a new project born from a passion for lustful accommodations around the world and frustrations with the lack of sources to find them. Come on the journey with us, and click here to learn more about who we are and why we’re doing this.
But First, A Quickie
Hotel Corazón
Location: Deià, Spain
Nearest airport: Palma De Mallorca (PMI)
Why it’s sexy: Australia doesn’t do sexy like Spain. At its core, Hotel Corazón dials up the heat at every turn thanks to the creative input of British nude photographer and Mallorcan local, Kate Bellm, and her husband, Edgar. Each of its 12 rooms exude a different flavour of sensuality and charisma.
The Journey
To get to Corazón, which is on the northwest corner of the island, you need a car. In short, renting one from Palma’s main airport on arrival in Mallorca can be a costly cluster. But a hire car is unavoidable and, unfortunately, essential if you want to be mobile and explore while at Corazón. Our advice? Book as far ahead as you can.
Palma will quickly become a distant memory as you wind up the snaking roads of Mallorca’s inner arteries and close in on the hotel atop the Tramuntana mountains.
It’s a quick 45-minute meander up to Corazón out of Palma. We took the route via Valldemossa and the little village of Deià as a scenic win over the highway (which has you missing out on all the dramatic ocean cliffs).
The hotel’s concierge kindly touched base with us via WhatsApp before our arrival to confirm our check-in time and if we needed assistance with recommendations or bookings in the area. They’re quick and informed, so definitely lean into them if you want some local wisdom.
Side note - if you’re staying in Palma before or after Corazón, Palma Riad is the spot. The candlelit boutique hotel is steps from the town centre but a world away from the unshakable commercialisation of the popular holiday spot.

The Vibe
Corazón is somewhat of a time capsule - part lodging, part creative hangout, and part rustic farm. From whichever angle you’re drawn to Corazón, you’ll find the old-school magic of Mallorca inescapable.
It’s hot here, and in the height of summer, that’s both literally and metaphorically. You’re met with a hazy 70s vibe that is sexy, slow, and welcoming.
Aside from the dozen or so rooms (which we’ll expand on shortly), the hotel has a main terrace and restaurant with an open kitchen that looks over the valley, as well as vegetable gardens, a courtyard, a cosy lounge area, a yoga studio, and a stunning pool area - the best perch to enjoy an orange wine and watch the sun go down.
The staff cultivate the breezy ambience, and nothing is ever done in a rush. You’ll feel your heart rate’s baseline matching theirs before the sun has set on your first day at Corazón.

This is very much a small, locally-run hotel that, in a few ways, doesn’t match up to the $1000 per night you’re paying. We’re being honest here - don’t expect the sharpness in service that such a tariff would typically demand.
The other noteworthy consideration is the crowd. You can probably expect that such an aesthetic attracts a certain type of social cringe factor, and some guests are less palatable than others.
Hesitations aside, Corazón’s uniqueness and unapologetically sexual aura are 100% worth the stay.
Choosing Your Room
We booked last minute and found ourselves in the Holy Wood suite, which was the only one available for our dates. It’s about a 50/50 split between those rooms that face the internal courtyard and those that face out to the mountains. All the room categories priced above ours get the latter view, but Holy Wood’s dual double-door balconies let more than enough soft light spill in to get the best of both vibes.
‘Holy Wood’ at Hotel Corazón
This room was smack bang in the middle of the pricing scale at €1240 for two nights, which is the minimum number of nights you can book.
It was surprisingly capacious, draped in dusty pink linen all over with a cheeky vibe about it. High ceilings stretch up to the former monastery’s old wooden beams and a giant shag rug is spread out in front of the king-size bed. Kate’s nude artwork adorns the walls, and the bathroom is nicely done with a bronze rainfall shower and windows opening to palm trees.
Be warned - some rooms have open bathrooms, so keep that in mind if it’s not your thing.
From what we could tell, the rooms were all priced accordingly, so stay away from anything cheaper than Holy Wood. Those cosy nooks are tucked away on the lower floors and don’t get as much natural light as the rest.
If you want to scale up without breaking the bank, the Baba Royale suite has our room’s vibe with the ever-changing views of the hotel gardens and mountains beyond.
Food & Wine Options
The food at Hotel Corazón is fun. Cool girl chef Eliza Parchanska runs the farmhouse-style open kitchen with a serious ensemble of local ingredients - some harvested from the on-site gardens - offering a fresh farm-to-table Mediterranean vibe.
We dined on the open terrace for most meals while watching the ever-changing mountain views. We particularly enjoyed the grapefruit tuna crudo with garden herbs and the ever-so-salty and juicy spaghetti puttanesca with Spanish anchovies, all washed down with zesty natural wines and jalapeño margaritas.
In-house guests are always guaranteed a table, so there’s no need to book. If you're inclined to explore beyond Corazón, we have excellent recommendations in Sóller and Deià.

How To Book
Corazón is still a bit too cool for Booking.com, so you’ll need to lock in a stay directly via their website. It’s booked out for the entire season, but you might get lucky with a cancellation or two.
